FAQs

1. Why should I consider becoming a referral agent with Firelight Realty?

You’ve put in the effort to earn your Florida real estate license, and now it’s time for your license to work for you. Whether you’ve moved away from Florida or simply can’t commit to full-time real estate, our referral program lets you make money by referring clients without the demands of active client management.

2. How flexible is the referral agent role?

You’ll regain your nights and weekends. Referring someone takes just minutes, and Firelight Realty handles the rest. Once the referred home closes, you get paid. If you ever decide to return to full-time real estate, transitioning your license to an active Realtor® brokerage is straightforward.

3. What exactly is a referral agent?

A referral agent holds an active real estate license, and instead of working directly with customers, they refer them to active Realtors®. In return, once the referred customer completes a transaction, the referral agent receives a referral fee.

4. How much can I earn as a referral agent?

There’s no cap on your potential earnings. You can refer as many people as you’d like. Think about your network: family, friends, co-workers, past customers, neighbors, church members, school contacts, and trade associates.

5. How and when do I get paid?

After the real estate transaction closes, the receiving brokerage pays Firelight Realty the agreed-upon referral fee. Firelight Realty then pays you 90% of the referral fee through direct deposit. Usually, you’ll receive your payment within a week of the home closing.

6. Do I need to complete continuing education (CE)?

Yes, to maintain your license, you must complete post-licensing (for the first renewal) or continuing education (every other year). After completing the required courses, log into your DBPR profile and pay your renewal fees.

7. Do I have to pay Board of Realtors® or MLS dues?

No, membership in a board of realtors or MLS is not required. You won’t have to pay these dues. However, if you’re licensed in another state, you can be a board member in that state but not in Florida.

8. What if my license is currently with another brokerage?

Not a problem. After you complete the referral application and pay the enrollment fee, we’ll transfer your license to Firelight Realty. You might want to inform your current broker, but it’s not mandatory.

9. What if my license is currently inactive?

As long as you’ve met your continuing education and DBPR requirements, we can move your license to Firelight Realty once you complete the referral application and pay the enrollment fee. Your license will become active upon transfer.

10. Can I be located outside of Florida?

Yes, you can live anywhere as long as you have an active Florida real estate license. You can send referrals anywhere in the US and earn referral fees. Just complete the referral form when you’re active under Firelight Realty.

11. Can I choose the Realtor® for my referral?

Absolutely. If you have a preferred Realtor® in mind, include their name on the referral form. We’ll ensure your referral goes to them, even if it’s out of the area. Don’t worry if you don’t have a Realtor® in mind; we’ll match you with the perfect agent.

12. Can I refer someone outside of Florida or the immediate area?

Yes! We welcome referrals from outside Florida. Our extensive network of Realtors® across the US ensures we can connect your referral with the right agent. Just note on the referral form that you need a Realtor® outside the area
